This was a SMS conversation between me and a Lakers fanboy at 9:30 am April 27, after Lakers win over New Orleans in Game 5 of play off series.
Me: The thing about the Lakers is that make them a championship caliber team is that they know different ways to win. Kobe had zero shot attempt in firm quarter but they can manage keep up with New Orleans.
Lakers fan boy: Dear Mr. Flip Flop! Please make your mind about Lakers. I watched the whole game and beside two amazing Kobe dunks, the Lakers ability to control the game's pace to their advantage was phenomenon. As I said before: Don’t not underestimate heart of the champion. Kobe is world's best active player! Admit it bro!
Me: It’s not flip flop, I say things as they are. I don’t make idols like some of us. That game was not Kobe's game. I would equate that win more to Artest that Kobe. BYW, Kobe may be world's most consistent superstar but I am not sure he is the best active players.
Lakers Fan boy: No No Sir. I fyou watched the game and not just the highlights; you would know exactly how Kobe changed the dynamics of the team and the arena and got fans more engaged in the game. Reggie Miller said: It's amazing how one play can change things around...If you call me who idolize, I have to sau I may idolize but you are secretly (Or obviously) obsessed with Kobe! You cant get him out of your mind and would like to talk, comments or write about him...
Me: That was of the few game I watched to the last minute that night (still yawing as result).I agree that Kobe dunk was truing point of the game, but the fact that the Lakers maintain the pace with NOH, allowed that turining points to be effective on the outcome of the game.
Lakers fan boy: He dunked it in your face, Kobe Hater!
Me: Dude! Let’s talk basketball here...stop this personal attacks and name calling crap. Do somthing good with NBA fluff you stored in your head for change.
Lakers fan boy: Look who;s talking? idolize? That was a cheap shot man!! truce? sure.
Me: You got it.
Lakers fan boy: I am gonna take a shower.
Me: Thanks for my morning laugh.
